Environment and safety have our full attention.

Because it is important to us to stay up to date on environmental and safety legislation and regulations, we bring in external specialists. They work together with our internal specialists to ensure that we comply with the Belgian environmental law VLAREM and that our safety policy is and remains the best that it can be.

We strive to conduct the handling, transport, and warehousing of your cargo in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Our is a testament to our efforts: you only receive one if you meet very stringent requirements. And we do. Our external and internal environmental coordinators work day in, day out to ensure that we maintain and improve our environmental and safety performance.

Safety first

Safety is incredibly important at Verkooijen. Every employee who comes into operational contact with machinery, rolling stock, and logistics processes goes through an initial safety training and periodic refresher courses. Regular toolbox talks ensure that everyone stays up to date on the latest safety techniques and requirements. Our external and internal safety coordinators work day in, day out to ensure that we maintain and improve our safety policy. And the Belgian workers well-being law helps to keep us sharp!

Corporate social responsibility

We also take maximum responsibility for our impact on society. We regularly replace equipment with newer models that use less energy, we generate energy from 2,000 square meters of solar panels, we purchase modern, energy-efficient, and relatively clean lorries with Euro 6 engines and electric forklifts, and we install electric charging stations. These are just a few examples of our dedication to caring for the environment.
